Skiing an Avalanche Path from a Sailboat! | Ep. 11 | Alaskan Sailboat Based Backcountry Skiing

This is #2 of 3 "Sail to Ski" episodes of this series. In this one, we head a short ways north from Warm Springs Bay to the stunning Takatz Bay on Baranof Island in Southeast Alaska. We are pleased to find an avalanche path the leads all the way to sea level and allows easy access to the alpine. Not far up, we find the snow and continue up the huge, but now silent avalanche path. Good skiing and incredible views put big smiles on the crews faces as we charge downhill back to the boat.
