Jabsco Y-Valve Servicing On A Lavac Marine Toilet | Gasket Replacements and Calcium Removal - Ep. 44
In this video, I go through the process of taking apart, cleaning, and replacing the gaskets (Part #45488-0000) in a Jabsco Y-Valve (Part #45490-1000). This Y-Valve is part of the Lavac marine toilet set-up on my 1979 Westerly Discus. A small amount of liquid had started leaking from the holding tank into the bowl of the head due to a worn gasket in the Y-Valve described here. Quite a lot calcium had built up within the valve, so I show some tactics for removing that, too. Hopefully this video is useful for folks needing to do this job themselves!
Here is the manual and schematic for the Y-valve: https://productimageserver.com/literature/ownersManual/31466OM.pdf
Here is a video from Jabsco that shows the inner workings of the Y-Valve a bit more clearly than in this video: https://www.xylem.com/en-us/support/video-library/jabsco---inside-a-45490-1000-y-valve/
