Sailing The Bay of Biscay can be great! Our biggest passage so far! #11

In this video we finally begin sailing our own boat across The Bay of Biscay! With its fearsome reputation for rough weather we had spent months wondering when was the best time to cross the Bay of Biscay and watching the weather waiting for a weather window to cross Biscay to Spain.

Join us here in early August as we finally sail across the Bay of Biscay on a 48 hour passage where we see shooting stars in a meteor shower, bioluminescence, as well as a lot of Spanish fishing vessels along the edge of the continental shelf. We have to motor some of the way but enjoy some good sailing and are even able to shower and eat at the table.

We have some emotional moments during our sail across Biscay when we realise how small we feel in the vastness of the open sea and consider how near yet far we feel from loved ones under the shared expanse of the night sky.
