Seawind 1600 Catamaran Sailing Performance in Key West, Florida | Harbors Unknown Ep. 9

This week we head out to the waters by Key West for the #SeawindCatamarans Rally “friendly” race day. We had 10 people on board. A mix from Seawind, #SailAwayCatamarans and boat industry professionals from Annapolis. We were all excited to see how the #Seawind1600 performed against the 1160, 1190 and 1260. Near what we thought was the end of the race we went wing on wing and gained a lot of speed. However, we realized that wasn't the end and we had to turn downwind around the marker longer than necessary to jibe. It took a while to retrieve the screecher and resume course towards the final marker. We lost a bit of ground here.

We crossed the finish line in third place and knew the error that lost us the race was not knowing the course, lol. I suppose we’ll pay better attention next time.
