Yamanashi is one of the 13 prefectures I am visiting this autumn on my Top Ten and Bottom Three journey, guided by my True Longevity Index (TLI)™.
The TLI tells me where to go. Once I arrive, I read, watch, listen and follow the clues.
Here, one of those clues is water. Yamanashi treasures the soft, deep-earth water that filters through the mountains before returning to the surface to be drunk, bathed in, and studied for its unusual mineral composition and possible connections with health.
On Tokunoshima, another stop on this journey, I encountered hard, calcium-rich water. Here it is remarkably soft. Very different waters, yet in both places water enters the conversation about health and longevity.
