The idea of living with your dog on a boat may be stressful for some. How do you know if your pup will adjust to being a boat dog? How do you get your dog to pee on the boat? Will your dog like sailing?

In this video, we go through 11 tips and tricks we have learned to to help our dog, Pivo, adjust to boat life and, soon, to living on a boat full time.

We are starting our voyage in New Zealand (home the 2021 America's Cup) where we have been living for the last 4 years. But we are going zero to cruising because we're from the mountains of Colorado where the sailing waters are scarce! Our first sail was with the sailing school, Great Escape, up in Opua, New Zealand. We hope our lessons from a beginner sailor and sailing with a dog will help you also as we set out on a multi-year sailing adventure around the world.
