Hello SoCal! | Sailing Past POINT CONCEPTION - Ep. 64
We were nervously excited to complete this leg of our trip to Mexico. Many people had warned us of how rounding Point Conception can be one of the more difficult sections of the California coast, with one guidebook going so far as calling it the "Cape Horn of the Pacific!" While this prominent headland no doubt is buffeted by a lot of wind, Point Conception is gentle on us as we sail through the moonlit night to Cojo Anchorage around the corner.
Exhausted from our overnight adventure, we spend the day relaxing aboard SDOC with wildlife surrounding the boat all day. Next, we continue to Santa Barbara. While on route we come across expansive oil slicks on the sea surface originating from oil wells scattered throughout the Santa Barbara Channel.
Thanks so much for tuning in!
