THUNDERSTORMS Lurking In The SALISH SEA | Ep. 31 | Finishing Up The INSIDE PASSAGE
Its the home stretch! In this one, we leave Port Neville and finish sailing down Johnstone Strait and into Discovery Passage. With great wind and a favourable tide pushing us along, we manage to sail straight through Seymour Narrows and over the infamous Ripple Rock. The next day, we enter the Salish Sea amid some very unstable weather. Reports of dangerous thunderstorms with violent 50 - 60 knot winds only 40-50 miles to our south has us on edge as we watch huge cumulous clouds form nearby. A massive thunderstorm over Vancouver Island threatens us as we run for cover on Hornby Island. The next day, Alex heads home and I get set to do the last stretch of the trip solo.
