Ep. 30 Sailing Mallorca Pt 2 - Storms & Fires!
Mallorca has been a wonderful island to spend a few weeks sailing and exploring different anchorages.
Two things are keeping us here - Mike, Gem & the girls (our son & wife) are flying out to stay with us for a week and the battery situation has to be resolved before we leave Mallorca.
We’ve had fabulous wall-to-wall sunshine for weeks with not a spot of rain then when our son arrives we experience our first ever real storm at anchor and witness a boat on fire all within 24hours. Not a great start to their holiday.
We continue to explore the different anchorages of which there are many and find a fantastic little cove called Cala Porta Vells with 4 beaches and caves that have some amazing carvings.
It’s been great to see family again after so many months of being almost isolated on the boat during Covid-19. We treasure these times as they are extra special. We love to share what we are doing and who better to share it with than your family & friends.

We are Steve and Annette. We have been together since we were 15years old and believe me that was many years ago. We have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Steve used to be a Marina Hoist Operator in charge of yacht lifting operations. He dealt with super yachts, the likes of the J Class yacht's and Oyster Super Yachts, a multitude of other large sailing vessels up to 200tonne as well as the smaller yachts like Cordelia.
Annette was an Operations Manager & Bookkeeper at a marketing company LCM https://www.lcm.co.uk and continues to part-time bookkeep whilst sailing.
We had been planning our cruising life for over 10years and finally at the age of 55 decided that the time was right for us to let the lines go and start living our dream. We love to see new places and enjoy the different cultures of each country. Our long-term plan is to just enjoy it whilst we can, see as many places as we can and share this dream with those you are interested in watching and joining us.
