We Found a HIDDEN Cave in Fiji | Swimming to the Secret Chamber
Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 340
We explored one of Fiji's most stunning natural attractions—the Sawa-i-lau freshwater caves in the northern Yasawa Islands. But the main cave isn't the whole story. There's a secret chamber hidden behind an underwater passage that most visitors never see.
In this episode, we anchor at one of the northernmost Yasawa Islands, complete our Sevusevu ceremony with the village chief, go on a dinghy date exploring the dramatic landscapes, and swim into a hidden cave chamber that requires holding your breath and swimming under in the dark.
Fiji has really been one of the most beautiful sailing destinations we've been to and are thrilled to see if all practically all alone.
Travel Tips for Sawa-i-lau:
Visit at low tide for best access and clearest water
Hire a local guide (they know the safe passages)
Bring underwater camera/GoPro
Be comfortable swimming in the dark
Expect crowds from day cruise boats mid-morning (we came early and had it to ourselves)
