The dodgiest anchorage EVER (why did we even try?!) #37
This week, we are leaving Cartagena and set sails towards the Balearics! This time a year, the weather in the Mediterranean is still unstable, and we need to make a few stops along the way to dodge some weather.
Our first stop is in Mar Menor, an inland lake East of Cartagena. We spend our first night at anchorage there before setting sails towards Calpe. On our way, we pass Benidorm, and one of the highest building in Spain among what looks like Manhattan.
We arrive in Calpe under motor, only to find winds that pick up so much that we have to abort our anchoring operation and go find shelter on the other side of the rock…
