DISASTER AT SEA: Catamaran STRUCK BY LIGHTNING In Panama | Part 3/3

Location: Panama Canal

In parts 1 and 2 you saw us discover major cracks in the bulkheads of the boat. In this final part we get a visit from the Lagoon catamaran dealer in Panama to assess the damage, and the next day get struck by lightning in the anchorage!! We lose almost all of our electronics except the solar system and batteries (luckily!). Panama is one of the worst places in the world for lightning in the rainy season, but with cracked bulkheads, we were not able to go anywhere else.

SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Colin and his friends spent months rebuilding her, before setting sail across the Caribbean. Follow our journey as we continue to fix her and eventually circumnavigate the globe!
