Salt Whistle Bay is a beautiful bay tucked safely out of the wind and swell. You can easily walk to the other side of the island for kiteboarding. You can hike among the ruins of the abandoned resort. You can visit the beach shops and bars for t-shirts and the strongest rum punch in the Caribbean. You can explore the stone dining areas. You can walk to Saline Bay on a trail. You can enjoy the waters whichever you choose - kayak, paddle boards, snorkeling, swimming.

Trois Anse Bay (also known as Twassante Bay) features the Mayreau Beach Club resort and restaurant. We visited and enjoyed a fine lunch and their triple decker pool - except only one deck was open when we visited.

Saline Bay was a different story altogether. HUGE bay with a large ferry dock - take caution when using this for your dinghy as it was very difficult to get it tied safely. The local children are super eager to help you if needed. Quick walk up the hill for limited groceries at Station HIll and the unnamed town where locals live.

This 1930 church in Mayreau at the top of Station Hill was the only Catholic Church on the island for quite some time. Only recently did they build a new Pentocostal one. What a view of Tobago Cays! You can see Palm Island which we will not stop because all you can do is go to their expensive restaurant. And you can see Union Island, our next stop. And Canouan, our previous stop. It also houses the library. The 271 locals are all like family sharing the .46 square miles.

Electricity was only recently (2002) provided by a central generator which we walked by on our hike.
