I Found Out I Have a Heart Problem. Then Watched My Friend Get Airlifted 🚑 🚁
To be clear from the start: Steve wasn't the one airlifted, a close friend was. But it happened days after Steve got his own heart scare news, and that timing changed everything.
We are Steve and Annette and Gus, currently back aboard in the Caribbean after Steve's trip to the UK.

- what the routine check in the UK flagged with his heart, and how he felt hearing it when he felt fine
- why he rode that motocross day with quiet anxiety — a day our son had organised as a surprise
- what happened when a friend came off early in the ride, in the middle of nowhere, and had to be airlifted out when the ambulance couldn't do enough there
- how we are planning to manage a heart condition while living full-time on a 42-year-old boat in a developing country, getting seen, getting medication reliably, and what's our back-up plan
- getting back to the refit, and why coming back to the boat felt different after that week
This is the side of this life nobody puts in the brochure. When it's good, it's really good. When it's hard, we try to be honest about it.
