Racing a GALE Across the North Sea | Sailing Florence Ep. 227

Should we turn back? Are we sailing into trouble? With our visas running out we feel we have to head out to sea on a less than ideal weather window. A gale is approaching and we need to cross the North Sea in a very short weather window to beat it to Scotland. We have a dilemma, should we sail hard and fast to beat the Gale, or turn around and run back to Norway? Join us as we share our thoughts and decisions as we attempt this crossing.

Sailing We have sailed over 60,000 ocean miles around the world including aw complete circumnavigation on our 37ft boat, Florence. After 9 years of experience sailing in the tropics, this series presents a new challenge and a chance to learn new skills as we sail north to the Arctic.
