SECRET GILI ISLANDS – LOMBOK. Simply Indonesia’s Best Yet. S4 Episode 102
Having changed our cruising plans, again, we made a U-Turn in Bali and sailed our 42 foot ketch back across the Lombok Strait to explore the islands off Lombok’s South West Coast known as the Secret Gilis. Here we discovered why those cruisers that have sailed this area rave about it. We quickly fell in love with the whole area and in particular, Gili Asahan with its white sand beaches, clear water, thriving coral reefs, super friendly locals and small resorts serving incredible food at very reasonable prices. It seems world away from the packed tourist areas just across the water and it was not long before we were making plans to spend a month or two here after we make a circumnavigation of Lombok with our friends, Anthony and Linda on board.
