SDA202 Bobbing through Bombies. Exploring Water Cay, Bahamas
Rock walls, reef life, and the kind of freedom only sailing brings.
In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel, we’re bobbing through bombies on the sail from Flamingo Cay to Water Cay. An anchor check leads to a coral dive, then I swap the boat for my paddleboard to trace Water Cay’s towering rock walls and narrow cut. The day peaks with a turtley dive and wraps up on a stunning sandy beach.
⚠️ Lightning Strike Update
In real time, we were directly struck by lightning. Navigation systems, running lights, anchor lights, work lights, a large freezer, and even our keel were damaged. We're still facing VAT, duty, exchange rates, customs brokerage, and a costly haul-out for keel repairs in the Dominican Republic.
