Solo via Sea and Seine to Paris #16 | High Tide, Wrong Direction?
After 14 days in Rouen repairing the engine and taking on 1,500 liters of diesel, it's finally time to throw off the lines and head toward Paris. Leaving the harbor behind, the journey continues along the Seine, but the river has a few surprises in store.
I left The netherlands in august 2025 with 'destination unkown'. Whilst en route I thought it would be a nice idea to grab a croussant in Paris. This is my journey.

Even 100 kilometers inland, tidal forces play a major role—creating a strange current phenomenon where high tide doesn't necessarily mean free speed upstream. Join me as I navigate past massive ocean freighters, industrial zones, and scenic river bends while testing the newly repaired engines on the way to the first lock.
