Bass Straight passage FAILURE. (Learning By Doing Ep215)
Off we go, across the Bass Straight to Tasmania. We didnt get very far though, first the Jib halyard broke then after fixing that and sailing on one of the job sheets snapped. That was enough, I lost all trust in the running rigging and for the first time ever we turned back. Back to Eden to order lots of expensive ropes to replace the entire running rigging on Trade Runner.
You win some, you lose some, we mainly just lost. Better to turn back than have big troubles further on though.
