How We Sailed 14,500 Miles on $2,604 | Resupply Mission | Port Denarau Fiji
Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 342
After nearly a month exploring the remote Yasawa Islands—anchored in secluded spots, living off-grid, limited access to supplies—we're pulling into Port Denarau Marina on Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.
This is our first fuel stop in nine months, our first real resupply run, and our first chance to tackle the boat project list with access to a well-stocked yacht chandlery, restaurants, laundry facilities, and all the amenities we've been without.
This isn't a "how-to" on efficient sailing—it's a glimpse into what marina life looks like after extended remote cruising. We're fueling up, restocking provisions, fixing fishing rods, upgrading boat systems (including improvements to the Cook Hook we built in Australia), doing laundry, and yes—enjoying the luxury of eating food we didn't cook ourselves.
About Port Denarau Marina:
Port Denarau is Fiji's main cruising hub and the gateway for sailors arriving or departing the country. Here's what you need to know:
Location: Nadi, Viti Levu (Fiji's main island)
Berths: 200+ slips and moorings
Facilities: Showers, laundry, fuel dock, security, wifi
Chandlery: Well-stocked yacht shop with marine parts and gear
Provisioning: Walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, clothing shops, gift shops
Cruise Port: Also serves cruise ships, so plenty of tourist amenities nearby
This is where cruisers come to prepare for remote island chains or to resupply after extended time in the outer islands. It's the practical side of cruising that doesn't always make it into the highlight reel—but it's essential.
