Fulaga, Fiji | We Sailed to One of the Most Remote Islands in the Pacific
Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail.

We endured five months of Fiji's cyclone season. We sailed 300 miles of open ocean to get here. Fulaga. Honestly, worth every single day of the wait.
Fulaga is part of Fiji's remote Lau Island group and one of the least visited cruising destinations in the entire South Pacific. No resorts, no roads, no tourism — just limestone formations rising out of turquoise water, hidden beaches, pristine coral, and some of the warmest people we have ever met anywhere in the world. We arrived as the fourth boat of the year. It felt pretty special.
First thing on the list, sevusevu. The traditional Fijian welcome ceremony where you present kava root to the village chief before you're free to explore. In seven years of sailing and every country we've visited, nothing like this exists anywhere else. It's not just a tradition, it's a genuine invitation to connect with the place you've sailed to.
We start exploring the lagoon and every corner we turn, there is another stunning pristine spot. Limestone cliffs, hidden beaches that disappear when the tide comes in, and water so clear it doesn't look real.
First days in Fulaga — and we're already thinking we might be here a little longer than planned.
